An official groundbreaking ceremony was recently held at the future location of 1764 Public House. The new establishment, at the corner of West Pine and Euclid in St. Louis’ Central West End, is planned to open after the first of the year.
Derek and Lucas Gamlin, brothers and co-owners of Gamlin Restaurant Group, joined elected officials and local business leaders for the event. They also met with residents of The Residences at Forest Park Hotel and unveiled the first architectural renderings of the space.
“As business owners, we are committed to the ongoing success of St. Louis. This event was the perfect opportunity to show our pride in this city and our neighborhood,” Derek Gamlin says.
The 4,800 square foot restaurant space is a shell of what it was before construction started on 1764 Public House.
“The demolition work on the space is almost complete, and we will start to see 1764 Public House come to life over the next few months,” Lucas Gamlin says. “The new space will have an expansive bar area, two patios and a mezzanine level above the bar.”
Beyond updating the physical space, the restaurant will bring new services to building residents.
“We plan to offer amenities such as room service and event catering to residents of the building,” Lucas Gamlin says.
1764 Public House’s menu will highlight fresh, local flavors that will include some modern twists on local favorites. Fresh baked goods and made-from-scratch breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night dining options will be crafted in-house.
The upscale, casual restaurant, which will honor the history and resurgence of St. Louis and the Central West End neighborhood, will feature a vibrant nightlife scene similar to the group’s other two restaurants Sub Zero Vodka Bar and Gamlin Whiskey House.
